Shredable by Bill Bachman

Shredable by Bill Bachman

Listen to Shredable

This duet was written up in a Canadian cabin during Christmas break 2002 for Jeff Queen and me to play at a Drum Festival. I hadn't written anything in a little while and I wanted to write something really aggressive and fast (the original tempo was 160 bpm). It worked. After writing snare parts for 2 drums (one with a Mylar head and one with a Kevlar head), I decided that I never wanted to write for one snare drum again. (Of course this wish won't come true.) We rehearsed it the night before and we both barely knew how the other person's part fit. As a result, our beats ceased to line up at one point and we improvised a moderately awkward 16th based jam for what seemed like a LONG time in front of about 1,600 people. We finally "found each other" and played through the rest of it, the people cheered and I think we fooled them. Now it's your turn to play it and not get lost!
