OKB '99 v.1.0

OKB '99 v.1.1

OKB '99 v.1.2

OKB '99 includes three different versions of this arrangement of the OKB cadence. Version 1.0 is the most difficult and version 1.2 is still advanced but more achievable for a high school drumline. The three versions are interchangeable. For instance, if your snare line is extremely strong, have them play version 1.0. If you tenor line is weak, have them play the 1.2 version. All the parts are interchangeable even though version 1.2 has a different flavor to it than 1.0 and 1.1.

OKB '99 version 1.0 was written for the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, OH where I served as Percussion Caption Head in 1999. This version is BY FAR the most difficult version of the Oosh-Ka-Boosh cadence. The "Breaks" in this cadence are fun for you Jedi Knights out there!

OKB '99 version 1.1 was arranged for the Dobyns-Bennett High School Band from Kingsport, TN where I was teaching in 1999. When I returned home from tour with the Bluecoats, I knew DB would not be able to play the Bluecoats version (there were parts the Bluecoats couldn't play). So, I decided to make a version 1.1 that was more attainable. OK, so it turned out to be not so attainable. This version was never performed in public.

OKB '99 version 1.2 was also arranged for Dobyns-Bennet High School. This version turned out much better for the line! Versions 1.0 and 1.1 were just way beyond what the group could achieve. This version added elements that really solidified this arrangement.
